Consolation Ministry
Mission
To minister to the needs of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church community who have experienced loss in their lives; especially those grieving the loss of a loved one.
Objective
- Provide spiritual support at the time of loss and during period of mourning
- Assist with funeral liturgy planning
- Attend vigil, funeral and committal services
- Prepare meals after funeral
- Visit and follow-up with needs of family after loss
- Observe anniversary dates, Mass intentions and All Souls Day
Components
- Bereavement Support Group Provides support during time of mourning by meeting every two weeks to facilitate a better understanding of the grieving process and God’s part in healing. The meeting will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
- Funeral Preference Form This form assists in planning the Service of Christian Burial and your personal selections for the Funeral Mass.
- Pre-Need Arrangements Arrangements made with the funeral home in advance.
- Rainbows for Children A bereavement group for children up to the age of 18. (RFC will start in February 2009)
