We are in the midst of July and school is just around the corner. Our final plans for vacations and last minute errands are being put together as we see the time pass. I know that we are busy and have so much on our plates to accomplish in such a short time.

I have noticed lately that some of us have been skipping Mass (at least here at Sts. Peter & Paul) to do other things. The weekend of the 4th, parishioners were busy running the race and did not go to Mass. Also that same weekend, I noticed via Facebook, that some parishioners were at the fireworks and picnics but not at Mass.

It is not just about missing Church, it is about breaking the Sabbath...the day that the Lord set aside to be Holy for us. It is also about the opportunity to receive Jesus in the Eucharist and the Word. Why is God not first in our lives? We have Mass Saturday night...6pm..3 Masses Sunday...yes, even the 1:30pm is an option in order to come to Mass. Please pray about making God first. We are first in His Heart!
